Why do you need a jesus at all? You can simply believe in being a good and decent person, without the supernatural element.
One of the common arguments for religion is that without it there would be no morality - that, of course, is a lie.

Why don't we start a new 'thing' that is not religion or 'faith' at all. Calling upon both allegories and true history of individuals (both real and imagined) that have led a 'righteous' life . . . Jesus, Gandhi, Dali Lama...
It is about HOW you lead your life, from WHAT and WHO you draw your inspiration...
You need not believe in anything accept that GOOD is good.
Heaven/Hell is irrelevant because concern for what happens to your own soul after death is a selfish concern...a true afterlife is what you have left behind for humanity to cope with...was it a positive influence or a negative one?

Non-believers ARE sinners. They will be judged by God, as will all of us, believers and non-believers alike. None are perfect, or sinless. Christ died for us ALL on the cross. None are worthy of forgiveness, but all are able to receive it thru God's grace. The only way to God the Father is thru God the Son. He who rejects the Son rejects the Father. There are no other ways to salvation. To say that there is more than one way is to imply that God is not smart enough to do it right the first time, hence He would but just like you and I, imperfect, and not worth worshipping.
