You should try Total Video Converter which is a good program. It could convert any formats you prefer to

easy to use:

1. Download software

2. Run Total Video converter component, load the video files you'd like to convert by clicking 'New Task' button. After the files were selected, the window 'Please select the format to be converted will popup to remind you to select the right button。

There are a number of ways in which you can convert avi files to mpeg-2 (i.e. the format used on most DVD movies, like the one from your local BlockBusters). There are 2 options, one free and another which involves spending money. The free way takes a couple of steps and is a little bit more involve.

1. If you are willing to spend a little cash, use the one click solution by ConvertXtoDVD (http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/)

ConvertXtoDVD is a video converter software to convert and burn your videos to DVD. With ConvertXtoDVD and a few clicks you can backup your movies to DVD playable on any home DVD player.

ConvertXtoDVD supports most popular formats such as AVI to DVD; Mpeg, Mpeg, Mpeg4, MP4, VOB, WMV, DV and stream formats to DVD. It converts your files into a compliant DVD Video set of files and burns it on a DVD media. The ConvertXtoDvd does not need an external AVI codec download. It uses its own AVI codecs.

2. The free option uses Avi2DVD. It is a small free program I first heard about from the lifehacker website (http://lifehacker.com/software/dvds/download-of-the-day-avi2dvd-windows-217986.php)

Windows only: Freeware program Avi2Dvd converts AVI video files to ISO files you can burn to DVD, VCD, or SVCD.

If you've ever tried to burn AVI files you've downloaded to DVDs, you probably know that there isn't much in the way of free, simple ways to do it. While Avi2Dvd isn't a one-click solution, it seems to work fairly well; that said, it's still in beta, so you probably shouldn't expect the world. Avi2Dvd is freeware, Windows only.

i'm not sure about nero 4, but i think it would be best if you downloaded nero7 from nero.com. You can use the trial version, and it does the same thing as the real one.

with nero 7, you can eaisly follow the instructions and convert avi to a dvd format (such as .vob) which can be played on a dvd player.

you can also convert it to vcd, or svcd.

therefore, its best if you use nero 7. Its the newest one and easiest one to use too.
