There are so many different teaching out here, and to be honest.. I have thought about just not going to church and reading the bible on my own. The COC (church of christ) people are treating me weird bc they want me to joing, and I have told them that I am only attending their church bc my Baptist Church is too far away from the area that I am attending college. I am just getting frustrated with how this church is ran, it seems to me that they dont treat women as equals and their main expectation or taking care of the house. I am just sick of restrictions and classifying myself as one particular sect. It's is just minboggling that so many churches are trying to promote members just to increase numbers.. they could care less about saving souls. BTW.. does anyone know how this nondenominational thing works?

A TRUE Church is a Church that teaches what Jesus preached, the Gospel (good news) of the coming "Kingdom of God". This is what He called the Church of God (his little flock) and told His apostles before His death when He new the time was near to go out into the world and preach the "good news" of the Coming Kingdom of God. Apostolic Christianity is the exact same teachings of Jesus Christ. The apostles called their Church "The Way". When the Roman Empire gained more Power and control between 150 and 200 A.D. the Church was being persecuted for their beliefs in their teachings of Jesus Christ. The Roman Empire wanted to have one religion,..... Theirs. So the original Church started to scattered into the wilderness and down through the ages has survivied and has been kept alive by the hand of God. The Churches that exist today are the descendents of the original Apostolic Church and still have the exact same teachings as they did back then. All these Churche's are non-denominational for obvious reasons. Just to name a few there's the Living Church of God, The United Church of God, The Seventh Day Adventists Churches and even most Messianic Church's teach Apostolic Christianity and they have the Jewish customs to go along with it. All their doctrines are very similar except for a few minor differences that are not of any real significance. They preach the Word of God exactly how Jesus did, by obeying ALL of Gods Commandments in their original texts, and following God's Holy Days. The death of Jesus never changed these, the traditions of men did. Those are the "little flocks" the "Philadelphia era Church" Jesus was very pleased with (that Jesus prophesied in Revelation 3:7-13) because they were fatihtfull and followed His exact teachings. They have the "open door" to preach the coming KIngdom of God to the world. These are the Churches (little flocks) of faithfull followers who are scattered throughout the world that will be protected by the hand of God and taken out of harms way during the 7 year tribulation. A lot of the denominations have the Christian Foundation. Jesus told Peter that the Father revealed this truth to him. What was that Truth? That Yeshua is the promised Messiah, and the Son of the Living God. Also, He shed His Own Blood for the remission of our sins and raised from the dead for our justification.

If Salvation isn't by Gods Saving Grace, through faith, then it isn't a true Christian Church.

I go to a nondenominational Church, because that is where God led me to be delivered from a break down and to grow in His Word. That is the River Of Life Fellowship, Kent WA. The Lord led the Pastor the Church as nondenominational. The different denominations have mans teaching in them in addition to the foundational and biblical truths. In nondenominational there is more freedom to preach the Holy Bible and following after the Holy Spirit. And if the Pastor realizes he mad a mistake, can confess that error to the whole congregation.

If you don't want to be religious or called a denomination, just be a Child of the Living God, born of His Spirit, cleansed by His blood. It is a relationship restored and not really religious.

But church attendance is sooo important. In that God sits in the praises from His People. This corporate praise moves God. And the devil is overcome.

Non-denominational churches have no "dogma"

Most just try to live by what the Bible says without throwing in all the other junk.

Do not go to any church that "pressures" you into joining ( i.e. becoming an "official" member).

Check one out - can't find a Baptist church where you are?

Here are some sites that may help you find a Baptist church near you, or another you may go to. These search ALL churches.

well, i do not think you should just stop going to church..as christians we are called to have fellowship with other believers as well as learn from them (which would most likely involve going to church).

second, i do not believe that it is a biblical requirement for women to be treated as equals in the church (see I Peter 2:11-13); i am a woman and have no problem with that. the whole women's equality thing is a development of modern american culture.

i don't think there's anything wrong with being non-denominational (because we are also called to be unified: see Ephesians 3:11-22, 4:1-6), as long as you know what you believe, stand firm with that belief and that belief is based on things from the bible.
but i would encourage you to still go to church, because there is not a place where you will completly agree with everything that is said, just know what you believe and stick by that.

"Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace." Ephesians 4:3

Yes, I am currently attending a non-denominational Christians church where the Bible is the center of the teaching and they lead people to the life changing relationship with God.

I do not follow religion. I follow Jesus. I believe that He is the way to the Father's house. : )

Christ is the path of salvation.
Christ is the truth of God's Word.
Christ is the life eternal.

Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.

Christ is the tree of life.

Gen 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

God's Word is not a religion but a reality.

I'm in a nondenom church. Like it a lot. But some of them are just pentecostal churches with a different name. Read the Word. In one of Paul's epistles, he says not to say "I am of Paul," and "I of Apollos," and "I of Cephas." In other words, don't get too tied to the denomination or name on the bldg in which you worship. You are OF CHRIST'S CHURCH.

See I Cor. I

You'll have to look around to figure out which church you feel most comfortable in. Make sure it is a Bible believing and teaching church.

If you sense legalism where you are now, get out and find the right church for you. God Bless!

Yes, you just stop going to church and realize just how much more free your life is when you don't have to worry if someone from church happens to se you doing something they don't approve of and when you can actually sleep in on Sunday and read thepaper when you get up. However, expect to be called dirty names for not getting up and going to a church on Sunday, After all, Why should YOU be allowed to stay at home when they are forced by their particular societal code to go to church even when they are sick.

Nondoms. are the same as every other church group. they r a Denom. even though they say they r not. They hope to encompass all by embracing everything--- But that isn't possible... Modern social ideals won't work with in the structure of the church..Scripture is real.. as is the human need to be right and knowledgeable, beware of all that we must endure by being alive in this day, the extreme challenges to being faithful to Christ...will include being mocked by Friends and colleagues, constant questioning of your own beliefs, and... the other Denoms will always try to convince you that u r the one who doesn't understand...beware of the equality BS that society has gripped so desperately...there never was a difference in human kind except the difference in physical gender...Men created the dispositions that r railed against in this age..God only said a wife is to be subservient to her chosen husband..but only as he is to treat her as his own fresh-body - blood- in other words as himself, she and he are truly one. The caterwauling that the libs screech is a weapon of descent to blind you, Vail your senses from the real...Wait and be faithful..

COC is strange.

Join a non-denominational Christian church. One that teaches the Bible. Not one that picks and chooses which sins to allow.
