Get some over sized blocks - foam or card board he can really have many days of fun figuring different ways to stack and knockdown those things, at this age cars are great too a world of magic - make sure to get trucks that are like the construction type as well as police and fire vehicles they really up the imagination. My son loved action figure play sets like the straws and play mobile type. If all else fails get a basketball and a hoop or t-ball set up. Kids are funny they will be bored and then wham that's all they will do for weeks on end until you are ready to scream. Have Fun!

I just bought my 22-month-old daughter a bunch of pretend kitchen toys (plates, pots, spoons, etc) and a basket of plastic food. The package for these items said age 3 and up, because some of the pieces are small, but I just took out the dangerous pieces (like the skinny plastic french fries) and put them away until she's older. Let me tell you, she loves this stuff and automatically knew exactly how to use a lot of it just from watching me in the kitchen.
Doesn't matter boy or girl, every kid likes to pretend they are cooking like Mommy or Daddy. And some of the food they make now looks so realistic, it makes ME hungry! LOL
Anyway, just something you might try! Good luck...

Try rotating his toys. Take some of his toys and put them away for a few days/weeks and then get them back out again. Each time you bring out some of his old toys, it'll be like he has a whole bunch of new ones to play with. Right now, he's just got all these toys that he sees everyday which is why he's bored with them.

My 2 year old Loves Puzzles! she loves to try to put them together! The peg ones are good, the shapes and numbers too! She also loves those new WAter WOW doodle books. You fill the brush with water, and as she brushes over the picture with the water brush (or water pen) the picture appears. Good thing is, it dries back white again, so he/she can do it over and over. She also loves her little dora people toys and Little people, and Weebles! Have fun! OH....and Playdough...I put a smock on her, and you know those mats that you put under their chair to catch food, they're plastic, well...I put that over my table and give her one color at a time, with some stuff to cut, roll or make animal shapes with! LOVES IT! And if you play too....it brings back memories of that smell and how you tried to eat it!

Have you tried any musical instraments?? Things like a hamonica, maraccas, or a small hand size drum. Otherwise any interactive toys (ex, leapfrog learning toys).
You can also try doing arts and crafts with him (first time experience with materials such as paint, glue, cottonballs, wiggle eyes, pom poms, etc can be very exciting) or offer toys on a good behavior or reward basis.
Hope this helps!

Trade out toys my kids are bored if i let them sit and play the same toys evey single day. For ex. i have 7 bins for the day of the week i put them out so they can play with them. Every Sunday i would switch the bin with diffrents toy so they don't play this toys this day and this toys that day and so on...

he's in all likelihood nevertheless feeling somewhat sick and needs your interest. i understand even as my son is sick, he's really moody and clingy and cries lots. he's about 26 months previous. i imagine it ought to easily be acceptable to provide him something he likes to devour or do something he likes to do. even as my son throws a tantrum, I attempt to take him out for a stroll cuz he likes to bypass out and such. Or if something, you could bribe him with a sparkling toy. :) i do not understand. Being a make sure is fairly not ordinary yet really nicely worth it. We merely must have a great number of persistence i assume. good success consisting of your son btw. :)

could try.. making goop (cornflour and water with a bit of food colouring), filling a clean empty spray bottle with water and letting him *wash* the windows, dumping stuff on the ground and letting him sweep it up, getting him to do things outside rather than inside so he gets a chance to explore (that might be why he gets bored), have fun
