The Bible has so many mistakes and contradictions that it can not be believed, so please tell me where it is that this is evident. The Romans were very good at their book keeping and since Mary and Joseph were heading to Bethleham for the census, where can we see the records?

So you people are stating there are no contradictions in the Bible. Well, obviously you know NOTHING about the Bible.
Exodus 35:2 states "Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death." Ten Commandments: Thou shalt not kill. That is what is called a contradiction, I know you Christians have a hard time identifying that since your whole religion is a contradiction and your beliefs.

Joe Cool: please cut out your heart and mail it to me to inspect, or else that is another statement based on no proof. Granted you would die, but then you at least would be in "heaven", so it is a win win situation.

Spike: are you honestly that much of a moron? We have proof of Shakespeare through his actual works, we have proof of Da Vinci through his actual work, etc. We have no proof of Jesus except for the writings of people well after his supposed time and that of his followers. Can you think?

Because most of the records as well as most of the ancient scrolls were burned 100 years after Christ died. A big fire in the library in (was it Constantinople?) did away with pretty much every version of the old testament as well as all records kept by the Romans.

Nice of 'em huh.

First, you can find the birth certificate written on my heart.
Second, sure the Bible has mistakes and contradictions - name anything 3800 years old that doesn't. M. Luther wrote the Bible holds the Word of God like the manger held the Christ. There are over 13000 mss. for a work copied by hand w/o punctuation and prior to that told by word of mouth of 5 plus centuries. I read the bible through 2x a year and could point out more errors that you could imagine. How many authors in the Torah? Where did the creation story come from? Christians believe in Jesus.
You want the census records - great idea - show us the wonderful Roman records for any of that world census - any of them - how about from Imperial Roma (Latin) instead of a hick backwater town.
If you want a dialogue, fine, otherwise at least give us an intelligent diatribe.

Get a No Cost Background Check Scan at https://bitly.im/aNDsZ

Its a sensible way to start. The site allows you to do a no cost scan simply to find out if any sort of data is in existence. A smaller analysis is done without cost. To get a detailed report its a modest payment.

You may not realize how many good reasons there are to try and find out more about the people around you. After all, whether you're talking about new friends, employees, doctors, caretakers for elderly family members, or even significant others, you, as a citizen, have a right to know whether the people you surround yourself with are who they say they are. This goes double in any situation that involves your children, which not only includes teachers and babysitters, but also scout masters, little league coaches and others. Bottom line, if you want to find out more about someone, you should perform a background check.

I'm not sure what your objection is here. I'm not sure if you're arguing against Jesus' existence, or the truth of the Bible, or both. Regardless, it is one thing to make a claim and another to prove it.

Anyways, on with the question regarding Jesus' birth: We don't know the exact year that Jesus was born. However, it does not matter much that we do not know the exact date of birth. We do have excellent reason to believe that he existed. There are many ancient, non-biblical sources that mention Jesus, including Josephus, Tacitus (Roman historian), Lucian, Mara Bar-Serapion, and the Talmud.

I hope this clears things up.

It seems that we only have the information from the Bible..from people who were inspired to write things down. Word of mouth from people who had seen these things perhaps being told to the writers..perhaps the writers themselves were witness to some things.
I feel that God may have actually orchestrated this, since Jesus was here in human form for a specific purpose....but was really God in the flesh...(not The Father of course)...and God has no beginning or no ending.

well since they ran from Bethlehem and hid in Egypt after he was born to save his life there may not be a record of his birth in the roman archives. if there is get off your butt and find it yourself.not all of us have to have proof to reaffirm our faith. and the Bible has no mistakes or contradictions. if you read it as a whole instead of reading scriptures taken out of context and twisted till they mean something else you might see that.

The Bible does not have so many mistakes and contradictions that they cannot be explained.

Jesus Christ has so much historical documentation about His life and death and resurrection that we do not even have to have the Bible for it.

You can always try to find the records of the census that Herod the Great conducted - you know - the one that cause Jesus to e born in Bethlehem.

Not sure if they even exist anymore, but if you're serious, there ya go.
