I want to get a small tatoo in a couple years but i dont' know where to get one. At first i thought my lower back, right in the middle but then i found out that was a "tramp stamp". now i'm thinking aound my hip to the left of my belly button. is this a good spot or can you think of a better place that would be easy to hide during perfessional circumstances?

more to the point WHAT do you want. certain designs are made for a certain body part. a lower back design will not fit an arm or a leg. Thr "tramp stamp" is a myth, its a matter of opinion. its like saying people who are blonde are automatically dumb. That doesnt stop thousands dyeing their hair to be that colour. IF thats where you want your tattoo thats where you should get it.

However if you are really worried by what everyone else thinks perhaps you should reconsider getting it at all. You will have it forever and if you are not comfortable that there will be people who dont like you simply because of it then dont get it.

Because i myself want to be respected as a professional i keep most of mine covered, your lower back is a coverable place UNLESS you plan on wearing *** showing jeans which it doesnt matter if you have a tattoo there because it isnt professional. Keep it between your thighs and ribs and you should have no trouble covering them. Dont forget you may want to wear a tank top or skirt in summer so dont go too high or low.

I have many tattoos including a full back peice so I think I can tell you that the shoulder area doesn't hurt much at all unless you start going further under the arm and by the armpit...that hurts like blue fury..that's why you see people with armband tats that only go halfway around...they're called sissy bands. but it should feel about like someone whisking very fine sandpaper across your skin. as for where you get them done, unfortunately I would have to say go to most expensive parlor. if it looks questionable it is. talk with the artist first, ask to see examples of his work both recent, and after they've healed. Also, take a good look at their personal appearance. If they are grubby do not let them work on you! I have enough bad art to know what not to do...trust me.

I have a tattoo on my lowerback, not one person has referred to it as a tramp stamp, because I don't run around in short shirts to show it off. Get it on your lower back. Its only a tramp stamp if your a tramp! And who cares what other people think, this is your tattoo. Make it what you want.

And for those of you who say tattoos are just a fad, people having been getting tattooed for thousands of years, that is the longest "fad" I have ever heard of!

another thing to think of since you're a girl is if you're going to have kids eventually. Make sure that it's in a spot where it's not going to stretch out and become disfigured. That's why the lower back is also popular. Also - keep this in mind...it isn't the tattoo that makes the tramp...it's the person herself that makes her a tramp.

tattoos are an expression of who a person is if you want to get it on your lower back then go right ahead i think there is more to being a tramp than where you put a tattoo just make sure you think long and hard about what you get and that its something that's meaningful to you.

Get your first tattoo somewhere that you can see it without using a mirror, you'll probably want to look at it alot in the beginning. My favorite is on my upper left arm.

This could be good or bad. It's a good spot for "cuteness" but if you ever plan on having children it's bad because it will stretch and probably not go back to looking the same- especially with detailed or small work.

i think that you shouldn't get a tatoo at all because it is very painful now a days!! the amount of people i know that got tatoo's said that the person that put it on was very rough and did'nt care what way it turned out so my advice is bon't get a tatoo at all
