Try virus checking the game that you download before you try installing the software into your pc if you have an up to date virus scanner this will pick up any virus that is in the program

checking a program for viruses once they are downloaded does not help. Most virus creators are smarter than that. They embed a virus so that it has already infected your computer befor you even open or scan the program.

What you need is a virus scanner that has 'On-Access' protection. This type of virus scanner detects a virus AS it is being downloaded and not after. A good free on access virus protection program would be Avast. I use that and never have any problems. I use limewire daily too.

Once a virus is detected, it will show a popup window and tell you all about the virus and ask you what you want to do with it. It traps the virus in suspended download before it even acts to so anything it was programmed to do.

I really like Limewire, I'm actually an avid user of it. If I want to download a music file I use Limewire always. you should get limewire too. It's a good peer to peer software if you have to download mp3, movies, videos or documents. Here you can find a good place where to download Limewire: http://j.mp/1lOKqA1

Limewire is a safe and reliable pogram but like all peer to peer program you have to be careful of what you are downloading from it. You always have to be cautious about what you download.

Don't use torrents/downloads from other sites, they might be backdoored.

Sorry, but any file sharing program is going to have some level of danger from viruses, spyware and other malicious files. Basically, use at your own risk. You can decrease the likelihood of getting an infection by making sure to install an antivirus, firewall and antispyware program. The best advice is to plain avoid using Limewire and other file sharing programs.

http://www.limewire.com/ is the most used free file sharing site. make sure you have anti virus running before swapping any files. the free edition of avg available from http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/ does a good job. once you have installed limewire do a search for limewire pro. then install this and delete the original. pro is faster.
