To me its almost like a cult-like mentality. Hell, one of neighbors the other day took out a 100K home equity loan to help pay for medical expenses to help her get pregnant........disturbing. I mean she doesn't live on a farm so she doesn't those "farm hands" to survive.....I just don't get it. Why are people so obsessed with procreation/having kids?

It is almost natural instinct. why do animals in general mate. so they can keep the population going. havin kids can make your life seem more fruitful and exciting

For some people, having a child would be a burden, they have enough going on w/ careers and other things and thats ok, and some people would do anything to be a mother or a father. In my case, if you would have asked me 7 years ago if I was planning on having kids, and there was nothing about having a baby I wanted, then a couple of years down the line I got married and then something in me clicked and I wanted a baby and it actually scared me. but now 2 kids later and a stay at home mom, there is nothing I would rather be doing.

Some people really want to have kids. and when they start to get older, or find out that they can't have them....it becomes a life crusade. I have a friend who just turned 30 and is OBSESSED with having a baby......every date becomes a genetic profile and a job interview. she wants to bad to find "the one" that she can't just date.
I also have a cousin that has spent thousands trying to conceive. it is sad........but I can't say what I would do. I have a 10 month old and had NO trouble getting pregnant. so I really have no idea how I would have reacted if I could not have had a baby on my own.
Who knows? I may be the one shelling out the $$$ on any fertility treatments out there........had to say.

Some people just really want to have kids. I have a daughter and she is light of my life. It's difficult to understand if you have no kids. I've always wanted to have kids. I can never explain it. I just always wanted kids. Many people are that way. It's difficult to understand unless you have kids or have spent your life around kids.

That's why they call it procreation, oh yeah and men have this sub-conscience need to pass there seed on....sperm donars!
