Yes Hughes vs Sanchez should be the fight. But they also want Hughes to set up for a rematch against GSP. If they fight now and Hughes looses he will not get his rematch. If he wins he will but than Diego has to fight another top welterweight to get his title shot. I think they want to see when GSP is coming back If it is gonna be a while they want to keep a big Welter weight fight on the back burner in case they need it. Hughes Sanchez would be a big fight the fans would love to see. So why not hold off let Hughes beat Lytle to build back his fan base and then come the summer Sanchez vs Hughes the winner gets GSP. think of the hype.

Agree that would be a better fight. More than likely trying to protect their former champion so he will sell more pay per view for his inevitable rematches with Penn and GSP. Hughes is the past, GSP the present and Diego could be the future.

agreed. sanchez proved to be a solid fighter and could give Hughes a run for his money. these two bit fighters, up against known, solid contenders is getting really old. dana needs to invest in more fighting talent. he's taking some good steps with jackson and cro crop, but the heavy weights is still super light and lack credibility.

i think matt hughes will win. not only win, but dominate in an embarrassing fashion. i don't think he's a dick though. didn't you see what he did when st. pierre told him he wasn't impressed with his performance against bj penn? or how he responded to the nad shot frank trigg gave him? pretty classy if you ask me. serra on the other hand is a loud mouth, no question about that

hughes/sanchez might be a better fight, but you don't know if sanchez wants it though. he's in line for a title shot. maybe he doesn't want to risk his shot fighting somebody who could land his *** in japan faster than he can say frank shamrock. lytle is the one with something to prove and he'll be showing something if he wins or has an outstanding showing against hughes.

Not sure why you would perceive this as a fixed fight. There is always the potential for things to go differently than is expected.

Diego is already set to fight .. Josh Koscheck. I guess they didn't spend enough time together in the TUF house.
