Assuming a person lives to be 80, humanity will collectively waste 5,700 lives watching football today. What do you think humanity could accomplish if nobody watched the game next year?

What I mean is 1 billion viewers times four hours dividided by 24 hours divided by 365 days divided by 80 years equals 5700.

Hey, football is the only real sport, it's never wasted. Now watching a boring sport like baseball, basketball, or soccer, now that is time wasted. I'm wanting to see if Peyton can pull it out, this is basically his legacy right here, probably the one and only time he'll get a shot at the ring. If he doesn't win, his stats will only go so far for his image in history.

Watching tv makes you live longer. Take the average life expectancy in countries with tv (about 72 for males) verse those without tvs (close to 55 or less). And before tv was invented? It was low all over the world.

I can play with numbers too. ♥

There is documentary evidence that evil (murders, crimes, etc) decrease during the Superbowl. Of course they rise again right after. Isn't this a reason to have football 24/7?

Ok....I'm with you about wasting time in Church.....but..NOBODY but NOBODY attacks the Church of the pig skin!!!! Besides...they'd just find a different escapist event to participate in (like...say....asking questions on yahoo).

You suggest that there is no benefit.

What about all the revenue generated from commercials that may lead to more jobs?
