Okay, three words: JUST ASK HIM. It's not very hard; sometimes the best thing to do is ask what he does for fun, then ask if both of you might try it. The least he'll say is no; if he's interested, he'll invite you along.

let him ask you out. if you ask hijm. it would make you look desperate
