Full of viruses and adware.
Dangerous to install, especially for a child to use.

Limewire is not illegal. It is only illegal if you are downloading copyrighted material. (but to agree to the illegal comment by the other user, the program is generally not even needed unless you are downloading illegal material because anything LEGAL could be easily located elsewhere on the internet anyway.)
Do not use this program unless you have an 'on-access' virus scanner like Avast or something. Alot more viruses can be downloaded from this limewire program than you can possible imagine. You are better off just sticking with the search engines. Even if you are seeking free music downloads... Is it worth it to save a few dollars on music to risk spending hundreds of dollars on computer repairs?
Also, I happen to know from legitimate sources that lime wire and other P2P programs and sites are in fact monitored by the FBI. they just dont make it a well known fact. Firewalls, zonealarms and proxy will do you no bit of good.
Use At Your Own Risk and keep it legal.

i have been using lime-wire 4 a year now and have stopped using it over the last few months due to too many dodgy downloads,it is very good for music,but movies ,programmes and games can come at a high price due to spy-ware and viruses,my PC has downloaded some bad stuff and i have had to re-format twice.I NOW USE A P2P PROGRAMME CALLED ARES,it is smarter ,quicker ,more user friendly and scans any downloads 4 viruses and spy-ware on search.This is the lime-wire of 2007 ,much better and safer than lime wire and works well with an anti-virus and firewall programme ,ARES,

On lime wire you can download music, Videos, Pictures, Programs, Games,Ect...
You can download almost anything with Limewire.

Limewire is a peer to peer (P2P) file sharing website(www.Limewire.com ) . It shares all types of files including music (legally or illegally), video (including porn), programmes (including illegal copies), documents etc etc. You use it at your own risk. It is the better of all the file sharing sites and if used sensibly, it is a good website. However, you can also end up downloading viruses etc (always scan a downloaded file immediately) and a lot of the material is copyrighted (especially the latest hits)..I've used it for years for downloading old vinyl music and obscure material. I have'nt had a problem

It's a peer 2 peer filesharing program. Basically it snoops around on your and other peoples computer to see what file you have like music etc and shares them with all the other people with limewire. It's a good source of getting free illegal programs, songs etc. What you really have to watch out for is the viruses and worms people put on it.

My Dear Friend,
First of all, Limewire is Hard Spyware. It will demolish your entire computer system and throw all your personal information on share...I request you NOT TO USE LIMEWIRE AT ALL.If U have then Un-install NOW.
Better to use Bit-torrent software or more better buy a affordable CD/DVD.

http://www.limewire.com/ is the most used free file sharing site. make sure you have anti virus running before swapping any files. the free edition of avg available from http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/ does a good job. once you have installed limewire do a search for limewire pro. then install this and delete the original. pro is faster.

Its for downloading music, films, etc. Unfortunately it is full of adware and not good to have on your pc. Try Soulseek or Winmx to do the same job without the stuff you don't need popping up all over.

LimeWire is a P2P File Sharing Program, which is totaly legal, however it is mainly used illegally, by people sharing music over it. But if you can, why not??
