Many people including breeders do feed raw food diets. Cooking food removes the nutrients and isn't a good idea for dogs. Neither is a diet of nothing but chicken. If you want to feed a raw food diet, make sure you cover ALL their nutritional needs. There are even dog food companies now that offer canned raw foods.

You should never feed a dog cooked bones. Raw chicken necks and backs are good for them as long as they have a good digestive system. If you think about it in the wild what does a dog eat? Raw chickens, veges (without acid) and other birds. The cooked bones can split, causing the bone to splinter and cutting the throat up. raw bones brake in half and do not splinter.

While cooking for them is a great idea . . . .feeding them ONLY chicken is not. It is not a balanced diet and does not give them all the nutrients they need. Try searching the net for some home-cooking recipes. There are some really good ones out there.

And ix-nay on the salt. It's not particularly good for them, a diet without it is best.

NO. it is fine to give him chicken as a treat, even a lot, but there just isn't enough vitamins. ALWAYS make him eat at least a half a cup to a cup depending how big your dog is. if he refuses the dry food and will only eat chicken, stop giving him chicken all together. he will soon realize he has to eat dry food one way or another.

It is okay to feed your dog chicken but you must make sure that it is part of a balanced diet with all required nutrients.
