It needs some fine tuning. Bush had the right idea(kill those terrorists/insurgents!!!!!!!!!) but went about it in a wrong way. Can't we just use special ops/ covert action to kill them? I think we should in Iraq ORDER the Iraqis to fight instead of us.

It's a mess. We went in at the wrong time with the wrong mix of troops and made one mistake after another tactically. The idea of a democratic, secular Iraq is a good one, but it should have been obvious it would be messy and long, and the American people should have been prepared better for what we have there. More explanation and less salesmanship would probably have served the administration better. It's still high-risk and we can't really afford to walk away like we did Vietnam. It also shows the media haven't learned the basic rules of journalism in war, and it might have been better had they simply been banned from the start as in Grenada.

Once again, the American fighting man(and woman) has been tasked with freeing oppressed people from the tyranny of despots. How do you think the world would be today if we had turned our backs on the Far East and Europe, and S. Korea, and other areas we've been in?

the most idiotic idea EVER....Iraq never attacked us and never posed a threat to us...but the question now isn't really should we have gone in, that's ancient history...now the question is how do we get out without humiliating ourselves and killing hundreds of thousands more people...
