When my 9 year old son was diagnosed with cancer we spent a lot of time in hospital and the fathers there were as young as 18 many in their 30's. I help out with a childrens cancer charity and no, research does not point to an older parent as a causative factor. Unfortunately they can't seem to find just what the triggers are.

Not a direct cause of cancer that would link age with a disease like cancer to a child. Some breast cancer's have strong maternal links to women in the close family, like aunts, grandmother ,1st cousins, etc. But not with a older father,or mother for that matter, the breast cancer trait would show up much later in a female child. Take care. SW RNP

No. I have not seen this. Most parents of children with cancer that I know seem very young to me. Too young really to be going through something so hellish. :-(
