I just went to the doctor yesterday and asked the same question. Her reply: STOP DRINKING SODA! I've used pills, medical creams and ointments, over the counter crap, etc. and of course, nothing has worked for me. I was even thinking of trying ProActive Solution you see on TV. But anyways, the doc said if I lay off the soda completely, my skin will start to improve. I used to have acne extremely bad but now it went down a lot. My only problem area is around my mouth. One other thing I do to keep my skin dry (I have oily skin): I go tanning a few times a week. This dries out my pores and has cleared up about 95% of my skin. And the benefit...you look great! The only bad thing is it greatly increases chances of skin cancer, and it's a pretty expensive treatment for acne. It's a win or loose situation, I guess. But that's what works the best for me so far. Now I will try to lay off the soda and see how much that helps. Hope this was some what useful. Good Luck!

The best way to prevent blemishes and get rid of existing ones is to drink lots of water, don't eat fried foods or alot of sugary foods (chocolate, etc.)- instead eat healthy like vegetables, etc., regular exercise (walks, etc.). If you wash your face with really hot water by taking a shower 2 times a day or just in the sink 2-3 times a day – it will definitely help with the oily skin problem that you have (I use to have oily skin). Also the best product out there for me was Differin Gel, I use it once daily. Taking Spiranolactone pills has also helped clear up all my acne in the past - but why not use the topical (Differin Gel) instead - especially when you prefer not to take a oral drug & it works just as good - Differin Gel has stopped all of my acne altogether!
I also noticed that in the past when I used to use certain hair mousses, hair sprays and gels it would irritate my face - and sometimes cause pimples, also certain make-up will irritate your skin. I use to get frustrated and scrub my face really harshly (trying to get rid of my pimples) and with strong soaps or cleansers – which only irritated my face even more, instead just use really hot water (for a few minutes) to wash your face- you’ll get clear skin without irritating your face even further and/or causing scars.
Basic, simple things such as - don't put your hands on your face - it can cause pimples (from bacteria on your hands) - Even if you just washed your hands and your hands are clean - other people may not be clean who have previously touched the same surfaces that you do (doors, etc.) and then touch you face unknowingly, and the bacteria sometimes from your hands will transfers into a pimple on your face. So wash your hands regularly and try not to touch your face.
I hope this helps. Good luck.

The most natural product is to every night wash your face with soap and hot water.
1. Rinse your face.
2. PIck up the soap bar and literally rub it against your face all over the place.
3. Quick rinse.
That was the "refresher" course that gets rid of the thin layer of surface dirt. Now for the main course.
1. Rub soap bar all over face. Be sure to rub hard and long, so that the soap coats your face, and then let the soap stay on your face for three to five minutes, OR thirty seconds after your face starts "stinging".
2. Rinse with hot water, preferrably.
3. Rub face vigourously with towel.
Do this every night, and you could even choose to do it every morning as well, and if you take a shower in the morning/night, it's an ideal place to do it in the shower, becuase then after you put the soap on your face in the "main course" the moist steam in the shower can moisten the soap and soften your face.
Caution: if your face starts getting really really dry to the point where you can see the white dryness a lot, then lessen the amount of time the soap stays on your face, and the amount of soap on your face. But if your face is just slightly dry for a few hours, but then it goes away after a while, that's perfectly alright.
Be sure NOT to put on lotion/face moisturizer after washing your face. Although lotion does moisturize, it also creates more oilyness. Trust me, after a while, your face will get used to no lotion. At first, your face might feel a little uncomfortable without lotion.

If you are in your 30s and still getting acne, there is a very good chance that your acne is hormonal. I am 31 and control my acne with hormonal treatments.
Go to your dr. and ask to have your androgen levels tested (I'm assuming you're female). If they are too high your Dr. will prescribe you a treatment to control the abnormal levels. Like YAZ or Diane35/Dianette - which are actually the only birth control pills approved by the FDA for the treatment of hormonal acne.

I suggest you wash your face with cool water not hot. Hot water dries out your skin. I have suffered from acne on and off and right now, I wash with xteaphil face wash and use cetaphil moisturizer-can be found at any drugstore. Also, I had to go to the dermotologist and she perscribed Ziana- a new acne topical gel. And it works!! My pimples started to dry up and within 2 weeks I saw a major difference. Its been well over a month and I am pimple free.
Good Luck!

Medical or spa grade skin care lines. True Cosmetics has one of the best on the market for oily skin that is truly anti-aging as well and change to mineral make up which True also makes. It contains Idebenone which is the less toxic derivative of Retinol. Truly a step up to enhance your complexion. Microdermabrasion will also help, but you need to change your skin care if you want a lasting effect.

Drink lots of water, green tea and in the morning have a glass of water with some lemon juice in it.
Try tea tree oil, and natural products from the Body shop, but if you are 30 then i don't know wether these would work because it's not just teenage acne anymore.
I would then suggest go to your doctor

Try keeping your hair out of your face and wash it twice a day. (if you don't already lol)
If you are doing that and It's not working try a special face was just for acne (like proactiv). If not, try doing what i said above.
