So I've been doing the therapy/meds thing for awhile though it helped,it's still there.People are expecting more of me because I'm not as bad as I was before but I'm not ready for the things they think I should do.I'm in the process of searching for a new therapist/psychiatrist but the problem is I don't have real issues.I've never been abused, raped, molested, experienced something tragic, etc.I should be able to get out there & do what normal people do - work, school,be an adult, but I can't.I don't see how therapists can help me any more than they've done.I'm not depressed enough or suffering enough to be helped. In my search for a new therapist,I unknowingly went to a place that was in-patient treatment only & after answering a few questions, was told it wasn't the place for me.I need outpatient.I feel like I'm just lazy & was told by the doctor at the facility in a way I am.It's in my head to do something drastic, something to make people understand. What can I do when I'm not sick enough?

I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety disorder a few months ago. I don't want to be sick. But I don't want to be stuck in the middle of being okay and not being sick enough - getting overlooked.

You are already on the right track, and need not do anything drastic. You need a therapist who will draw out your fears and hurts gently and slowly, at a pace YOU feel comfortable with. He/she needs to be SUPPORTIVE of you, and be a guide on your journey of self-discovery and healing.

And if it helps, sometimes we need to grieve what SHOULD have been, but wasn't. Best of luck.

You ARE sick enough for help. Also, bulimia and anorexia can come together. Its a period of starving to feel pretty, then eating something, feeling guilty/fat for eating, then purging. They go hand in hand. That ALONE makes you sick enough for help. Also, the scratching will lead to cutting. Notice I didn't say "might" lead to cutting. It WILL. Self harm moves very fast. When you go to school, go to a counselor there. Tell them how you're feeling. It's SO important. Don't wait for someone to get you the help. They may notice too late. You need to make the decision to get help. It's more than the decision to get help. It's the decision to give yourself the chance to get a better life. Life gets better, but if you give up now, you'll never experience it. Give yourself the chance to experience it. Trust me, it's WORTH the fight. You're not weak. You're not a failure. You're hurting and you just want to be loved. There's NOTHING wrong with that. Don't let your thoughts beat you up. They're lies. The truth is, you are an amazing person. I know because you didn't give up. You asked for help when you knew there was a problem. That shows true character. So tap into that little part of you that logged on today and asked strangers on the internet for help. Bring that courage and ask someone at your school or around you for help. If they don't take you seriously, let them KNOW it's serious.

Been there--done that. Sometimes all you really need is a good group of friends that like to do healthy things, go out and do physical activity. It's cold out, what you may have is a seasonal depression, so you may want to try tanning. It sounds stupid, I know, but for people with seasonal depression sun light really does help. And in the winter, you're either shelling out big bucks for a UV light or not so much for a tanning package. The more interaction with other people that you have, the better. And the more time you spend outside, the better you'll feel. At my worst, I spent all day on the couch in and out of sleep. It's not lazy, it's depression. And that's just how it works. One other thing that really helped me was a hot shower. I set my alarm everyday for 7am, even if I didn't need to be up that early, and took a hot shower. Live everyday like you have something purposeful to do and that will keep you occupied enough not to feel lazy. It really works.

It sounds like you have a case of inertia: ............A body at rest tends to stay at rest.

Start by setting a goal for yourself. Get more exercise. You'll feel more energetic. Go swimming. Go for a long walk. If you have a friend who will go with you, that's great. If not, go anyway.

Go to a movie that will make you laugh. Hang out with people who will energize you. Your condition is only temporary. Don't do something drastic......or stupid. Good Luck.

DO NOT do anything drastic. You are not lazy. Doctors are infamous for declaring that nothing is wrong, or that something is not wrong "enough".You need to find another doctor that will understand. Much luck.

Why do you WANT to be sick??? You aren't, yet you keep trying to get help for something you don't have. Mental hypochondria. Get out of your own head. Go volunteer somewhere. When you do that, you won't have time to be stuck in your own head and it will make you so grateful that you DON'T have serious issues.

Get a life.

If you are near a large city with a psychoanalytic institute and clinic or referral network, contact them for a consultation.

Find a new doctor. Do not do anything drastic. This is where the term "go postal" comes from.

These people as you said are no longer helping you, find someone that will!!
Do not do anything drastic, please.
