Scones go great with coffee. I got this recipe from an English Afternoon High Tea class I attended and have used the recipe often. It's simple but tastes absolutely wonderful. Serve it with some butter, Devonshire Cream or Clotted cream (lots of easy recipes on-line or you can buy it) and some lemon curd (also easy to make or you can buy). Here's the recipe: SWEET CREAM SCONES 2 c flour 1/3 c granulated sugar 2 tsp baking powder 1/8 tsp salt 1/3 c sweet, unsalted butter 2 eggs 1 tsp pure vanilla 1/2 c plus 1 T heavy whipping cream In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut the butter into small pieces and blend into the flour mixture with a pastry blender. The mixture should look like coarse crumbs. In a small measuring cup combine 1/2 c whipping cream, 1 egg, beaten and the vanilla. Add this mixture to the flour mixture. Stir until just combined. Do not over mix this mixture. Knead dough gently on a lightly floured surface. Roll or pat the dough into a circle that is 7" round and about 1 1/2" thick. Cut this circle into 8 triangular sections. Alternatively, you can cut the dough into rounds with a cookie cutter. Place the scones on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet or else a lightly greased pan. Make a mixture of one well-beaten egg with 1 tablespoon heavy cream. Brush the scones with this mixture. Bake at 375º for approximately 15 minutes or until lightly browned. These scones freeze very well. Round scones = 12 per batch Triangle scones = 8 per batch If you would like to add dried berries, raisins, and currents or chocolate chips, use 1/3 cup. Use 1 tablespoon poppy seeds and 1 tsp of flavored extracts if you would like to add that. Hope that helps.

If you are going to make a blended ice drink you should use a strong whole bean coffee, like italian or french roast. Don't use flavored coffee, because it has a bad after-taste. brew some strong coffee, and add a tablespoon of chocolate syrup, then blend ice, coffee and half-and-half. It should be half liquid half ice proportion before you blend. That will give you a perfect mocha frappocino.

In a large mug, put a 1/2 ounce orange juice and a tbsp of your chocolate syrup, then top with your coffee, stir, then add whipped cream and chocolate shavings. If you want (before you do all this, obviously), dip the rim of the mug in orange juice, then in sugar.

A Classic Cappuccino is made with 1-1/2 oz of Espresso topped with 2-3 oz of foamed milk. The "Basic Cappuccino" is more common in North America.
Espresso Doppio: Also known as a "Double Espresso". Double the volume of Espresso and double to volume of water (2 oz.)
Espresso Ristretto: Also known as a "Short Espresso". Prepare espresso as you normally would, however shorten the extraction time so there is less water dispensed.
Espresso Lungo: Also known as a "Long Espresso". A long espresso is a single shot espresso topped up with 1 oz of water. For a Double Lungo use a double shot of espresso topped with 2 oz of water.
Americano: Prepare espresso as you normally would, then top up with 5 oz of hot water .
Made from dark roasted coffee beans. A single Espresso usually measures approximately 1 oz. The espresso should be crowned with a gold coloured froth called "crema".
have fun
