When my brother came home from Nam the first time, he was in the Army hospital in Denver. He got a weekend pass and went out on the town. He went into a bar and it was dark. He ordered a beer. When his eyes adjusted to the dark he noticed posters of Ho Chi Min and Chairman Mau on the walls. As a paratrooper from the 173rd he could not let that pass. He through his beer on the posters. You can guess where it went from there. He went to jail and two of them unwashed hippies went to the hospital. Monday morning when he went in front of the judge the judge had his military file in front of him. It seems he had friends at the hospital, and they were there. The judge said " Specialist I can't give you any medals for what you did,but I can dismiss the charges." This is a true story, it made the news papers and radio news storys here in St. Louis. So try spitting on a vet today. It is not wise. Although you do not sound like a very wise person!

No they should not spit on anyone. If you want to spit get a photo of a dictator that has killed several thousand of his own people with machines/gas. I remember seeing on the news when the kurds were gassed women and children in the street ... dead.
But just wait .... we will be out of Iraq soon with more casualties because our congress won't give them funds they need to stay alive.
But the military will be blamed... of course.
Your not too bright a person to even consider spitting on anyone. Its a federal offense now because of aids/HIV and all that. You spit I hope you do end up in intensive care. My son has served two tours in Iraq and may go back for a third.

The real question should be, "Should morons that can't construct a complete sentence be allowed to post questions on Yahoo!". To that I'd say no.
But, if you are asking about your right as an American to protest, then absolutely, feel free to protest whateverthefuck it is you are protesting against between your drug induced comas when you get your weekend pass from rehab. Have at it. Don't forget to thank the soldiers for defending your right to be an ****** either.
In the meantime, I suggest you call your government paid health care professionals and get your meds adjusted. Besides bad grammar and poor spelling, I'm sensing some unresolved anger issues that will be your undoing.
Seek help.

What do the troops have to do with our president and congress pressing war on our society? Why would any protestor spit at the troops when its a hell-of-a-lot easier to protest in washington d.c., the only spitting going on is from the people who were paid to do it.

I would truly hope that no one would spit on me as i travel back to iraq, but i would say this much. If anyone spit on me because i was in the military and they were American, i would whoop the ever loving dog s!!! out of that person and feel pretty good about it. In Iraq, ive been shot at, mortared and hit by an IED, but am becoming very disheartened by how things are turning out in my home country. Speak your peace, but let us do our jobs in the manner that we were trained, honorably. You should thank every vietnam vet you come across and beg forgiveness of them, and when everyone of them is satisfied, you can start thanking us Iraq/Afghanistan vets.

that is freedom of speech. spitting is a civil liberty that is protected by the bill of rights. also, the troops ARE in an all volunteer military, so it was their choice to go to iraq and rape little girls and torture innocent people. these low lifes only use the military as a disguise to do terrible things that they otherwise enjoy doing anyway.

To answer your question - no.
To respond to your question, it indicates the kind of mentality that scares me about the future of the country, the absolute inability to distinguish between not liking a war and abusing people who have no choice in their actions. The sense that everything is simply black and white, that there is no middle ground, no area for compromise, no sense of the complexity and difficulty of a situation.
This is the mentality that is ripe for demagogues and dictators, people who promise simple and easy solutions, who can separate people into clear camps.
Scares me to death, even more than the people who started the whole mess in Iraq.

You just try spitting on me. You will wind up in the hospital and after that Jail. as you assaulted me. I was only defending myself from your attack when I knocked out all your teeth.
I'll go one further... You try spitting on ANYONE in my presence and the same thing will happen whether they are military or civilian.

I'm not even sure what you're asking. It's never right to spit on anyone, period; let alone at an airport, or on our service men/women who are just doing their jobs.
