Specialized is a very good brand and if you buy bike just make sure it isn't from a store like Target or Walmart. Go to a specialty shop they know much more then any schlub at those other stores. If you don't pay more then $400 your not getting a really good bike.

The best answer is just take the time to do your research. First decide how much you want to spend. This is important because there is a wide range of prices and you don't want to waste your time with bikes you can't afford. Second go to as many places as you can and ride the bikes you think you are interested in, you will be able to feel the differences between them. Third shop around because the prices can vary more than you might think. Forth make sure you get the right size. Sounds silly but if you are not properly fit to the bike it doesn't matter how good it is, it's not going to work well for you. In the end if you follow these steps you won't have any problem determining what is a good bike for you all by yourself.

Fancy bikes are a waste of money.Buying a bike from a recycle shop would be just as good as a fancy one. It's not hard to fix them and the bike shop will probably be able to keep it in good shape at little or no cost at all.I fix kids bikes around my area because parents toss them in garbage when they only have a flat tire or some other petty problem and buy another one the same year.I say learn to fix them and you won't feel the differnce from new one.lol

70 dollars won't really buy you much of a bike (unless all you do is ride up and down the road then its fine.) I'd keep it safe and try to save up a little more cash to get something you really wanted if you are in the mood to splurge.

Great choice if you happen to have $3,500 laying around ! And you're not going to find this bike at Walmart ! This is a bike for a serious rider. It has a carbon frame, and it won't take much abuse. If you're not a serious rider, you can find a quality bike at half the price.
