Where would you work if you found out that you could no longer work law enforcement? I always wanted to be a police officer and just recently found that I have a medical problem that's preventing that. Now I'm just trying to figure out what to do next with my life.

Get a degree in corporate security / loss prevention. Go to a tech school and learn about surveillance systems, computer networks and programming.
Corporations like Lowe's etc pay big bucks to corporate loss prevention managers who can be innovative with "shrinkage"..employee theft. Big paying positions, heck of a lot better than dealing with street thugs all day

I'm sorry to hear about your problem "Knowledge".....

I think I would have gone into a trade like plumbing or carpentry, started out as an apprentice in some union...and then started my own business. I like working with my hands and also the idea of being my own boss...although it does have a downside. (I'm retired now).

But what do YOU like to do? Are you an outdoor person? Are you good with your hands.....or are you more the "studious' type? I don't know you well enough to make specific suggestions.

It's just my opinion but you need to try to make a living doing something you enjoy. Where are your talents? Think about what you enjoy, and what you have an aptitude for and look in those areas. whatever you decide....best of luck to you.

Join the army! Either fun or serious, you'll love it. But if the medical problem is getting in the way THAT much, then I suggest you work in the police station as a kinda office person... good luck!

There are other jobs in law enforcement that you could take even with health problems, as long as they aren't too debilitating. For example, you could be a probation officer or a parole officer.

could look at a l.e. job that keeps you indoors. Not going to be as exciting but will still have you doing some of the stuff you wanted to do. i.e. dispatching, walk-in complaints, property clerks etc
good luck and Godspeed
