it's always like that, sick? drink ginger ale. what gives?

Because the 'herb' ginger has been proven and used for centuries by the Chinese to soothe and calm stomach upsetness.

When you are sick, you are always instructed to drink plenty of fluids. Ginger root has been known to soothe upset stomachs. Carbonated drinks also help some stomach aches. I think that that's why people suggest that you drink it when you feel sick.

ginger ale and 7up usually. believe its because of the sugar content in the others that will keep your stomach upset....This is what I was told...whether its the truth or not, I really dont know....

I was once told that it was because there was potassium or something like that that re hydrates you. Apparently 7up does the same.
