What might be able to help? I gave him some Orange Juice, cause that usually helps with my sore throat, but it hasn't helped him very much.... Thanks!

He has a throat and inner ear infection. Probably strep throat. For now, gargle with warm salt water several times a day, spray with chloraseptic, take tylenol for any fever, drink plenty of fluids, and see a doctor for some antibiotics as soon as he can.

It might be; either:

1. A minor case of laryngitis (throat problem)

2. An oncoming flu or really bad cold

If you want your boyfriend's throat to feel better then give him a bowl of ice cream and when he eats the ice cream - it will cool down his troat and will give him a bit of comfort.

Go to the doctor and explain the symptoms to him - if it is flu then he will perscribe ibuprofen or paracetamol - or if your boyfriend hates the savage taste of paracetamol (yeugh!) then just get some sachets of calpol - what could be better!

His flu will get worse and worse until in 2-3 days time he will feel like death! But he will get better so prepare for a week of hell...

Hope it helps

sounds like an ear infection to me...the pressure from the ear infection will push against the throat and cause it to be sore. that's probably why it only hurts on the one side. he needs an antibiotic. it will get worse. other symptoms of an ear infection are fever, dizziness, nausea or vomiting, and the pain worsens when you lay down. see a dr. asap! he might not have all these symptoms, but ear infections can cause them.

Sounds like an ear infection (eustachian tube-drains the inner ears to the throat. Time to either see the doc for an antibiotic or just bull through it and let the immune system do its work. Tell him don't let it get too bad though- ear infections can cause hearing loss.

He could be coming down with something:
a cold
an allergy
an ear infection
the flu
Watch for a fever. If he gets one, go to the doctor.
Try having him drink some tea with lemon and honey.

He could be going in for a viral infection. Give him hot or warm soup if he can take it. Plenty of fluids - fresh fruit juices if possible. Ask him to try out some home remedies. Gargling with warm salty water or mouthwash can reduce the pain and inconvenience. You can find some good home remedies at http://ailments.in/sorethroat.html

orange juice was a great thing to give him. Heres a home remedy also, make some earl grey tea with honey and surgar or however he might like it, and had just a capful of whiskey. Its called a hot Tatti and trust me it works like a charm unless its something requiring antibiotics. But try lookin in the back of his throat for white puss. its nasty i know but if you see any chances are he has strep throat.

All of the answers are good and will help but if he has strep throat they will sooth for a little while but it will only get worse give it a couple of days and if it doesn't get better he needs antibiotics!

Sounds like either a sinus infection of an ear infection. The best would be to go to the doctor and have the Doctor take care of it.

and if he has pain in ear, he might have ear infection..its ur best bet to see a doctor so he can get antibiotics
