I think it gives everyone an opportunity to explore what they believe in. I think everyone knows that they're not going to bring anyone round to their way of thinking, whatever that may be, but through the process of debate and asking and answering and even outright argument, people find a way to assess their own beliefs and faiths and in a lot of ways, make them stronger. You have to think quickly in a way you don't usually think, because there are so many diferent sorts of people and ideas on here to challenge and surprise you. It's good for the brain and the mind and makes you consider things you'd never thought of before.

This section has some people who use it and abuse it. But there are a lot of sincere questions in here which I think wouldn't be able to be answered from as large a variety of people anywhere else. So. even though there is a lot of sand to sift through, I'm very glad that this section is here.

When I wade through all the kiddie nonsense and the anti religious rhetoric and hatred, I do find interesting perspectives.
Sometimes after I have sifted through quite a bit of weevil infested verbiage I do find that there are those who do have intelligent and enlightening answers.
Answers is interesting, the most important tendency I've found is the EVERYONE, from all religions and non-religions who frequents Y!Answers is a victim of misinformation and misconceptions of their own biases, myself included.

1. This is a place where we can hide behind the guard of anonymity and debate our beliefs in a way we would not otherwise be able to in person, and with people we would not otherwise be able to debate with.
2. To me it's a great punching bag, as well as a good roadmap to inspiration for my music.
3. It's also a place where people can expose weaknesses in arguments, thus strengthening or even altering their views in such a way that we can learn something.
4. Its also a good place to find a cheap laugh.

For me, this is a place for people to research the truth, unhindered by dogma, tradition, superstition and scriptural literalism. It is NOT a place for religious fighting and islamophobia.
I try to reply to questions, giving some perspectives from the latest Revelation of God, defending Islam (even though I'm not a Muslim) and promoting the principles of Baha'u'llah, the Manifestation of God for this day and age.

It is a sounding board for ideas that come to me, and a chance to discuss something that is considered out of bounds in polite day-to-day conversation.
It is a place where I get a reality check and find that there are people who firmly believe in things that I and those closest to me would find utterly unfathomable.
It has also become a place where I come to see familiar names and faces.

For me it is often thought provoking (good questions), inspiring, emotion provoking, angering, (horrible disrespectful questions and vile avatars)
Even tho there seem to be many people on here who really like to give the impression of indescribable evil, there are so many who it is obvious whether or not my opinion is in agreement, I believe are honorable people. Frankly that simply does this old heart good!

I initially came here to learn about other beliefs. I still enjoy to learn new things. Mainly I am here now because of the rampant ignorance. I know I am beating my head against a wall but I am still trying. If one fanatic can see that judgment and pointing fingers is wrong than I have served a purpose.

I use it to learn about others beliefs. I grew up in a church that forbid me to visit other churches.
I left that church and found a new one, but this way I can learn about other beliefs without getting into my car and driving to and from every church.
Every week on here is an eye opening experience. I've mostly learned what I DONT want to be that what i do want to be.
