I have a 15 month old baby boy and he still isn't walking. He started crawling between 6 and 7 months. My daughter started walking at 13 months. I know some kids are different. I work with him all the time but it's like he doen't even want to try. He hold on to things and walks along the coffee table or couch and the bed. He can get up on the beds and couch but he won't walk around he's took a couple steps between the table and the couch but thats as far as he goes. do you think he'll do it on his own time or could there be something wrong with? He does have nystagmus but he's been doin really well with that so I don't think it's because of that!!

I have a six year old that was born six weeks after my neice. My neice started walking at 16 months. My son at 11 months. My neice is also 6 yrs old and that made no difference in her life. Shes a brain and is very active. She has two sisters , one walked at 17 months and another at 10 months. Everyone does things when they want to. Your child does not feel the need he has to walk so he doesnt. He will i can keep going on nameing my friends kids that took 16 months and more. Not one have a problem. Its common. You will be wishing he didnt real soon as you know thats when the fun starts. Dont worry!!!!!

Babies are all different. If he is starting to walk around the coffee table and from the table to the couch. Then he's getting ready to start walking on his own. Don't rush him. He'll do it when he's ready. The reason he still craws more is because its faster for him and he still feels safer that way.

don't worry yet. There are a lot of babies who don't walk until 16 mos. or so. If not by 18 mos then you should be concerned.
Get him one of those push behind walkers. He can hold it and push it to learn to walk. My kids loved those.
It sounds like he is doing pretty well with learning, he will do it in his own time. Good Luck

Hang in there. My son did not start walking until he was 16 months old. Do not force a child to walk because he or she may not walk normal and he or she will walk on tipie toes for a long time.

He's doing fine..sure, alot of kids are walking by this time but it's normal that he still isn't walking yet. Some kids are just late walkers.

Keep working with him on it. Get him some push toys or walkers that he can hold onto while he walks so he can get more practice.

Keep working with him..practice makes perfect :-)

First, calm down. Sounds like your son is fine. Children develop differently. Give him time to adventure out on his own. Just remember whether your son walks at 9 months or 16 months, doesn't determine how smart he is!!

My friend has a little girl who just started walking and she is 15 months. All children are different. As long as he is pulling up on things and walking along with it I would not worry, but just to calm your fears you should ask his pediatrician.

My son was 15 months when he walked by himself. It takes time and like you said each child is different. If he is cruising then I am sure he will take off one day by himself. Talk to his pediatrician if you are worried.
