i'm getting mine in about 10 days. I know lots of friends and my sisters that had them and i asked them all if it hurts! The first week it does hurt, when u first get them maybe not but then the pain will come 2 hours later or something like that. It also hurts alot when u first wake up, the first morning of braces.

Not when they put them on. They hurt when they tighten the wire once a month. To ME it hurt so bad even to eat soft bread! The pain goes away in 1 day or two.....then you start all over again in a month. It's not that bad. My cheeks never scrapped or peeled either like it does other people. Good luck!

I had braces. It didn't hurt. But the fingers of the guy putting them on tasted funny. You have to take care of them while you have them.

the initial 2-3 weeks after having them on does hurt, thn it stops. but every time u get sme tightening, pain reapears. or if u use the elastic thing to tightn it everyday, it hurt less. but dnt try 2 eat any "hard food " during the initial period or after the tightning then u'll really feel the pain.

It doesn't hurt getting them like glued on. But it hurts for a couple days after they are already on because they are really tight. It doesn't hurt to get them so called "tightened" because they don't tighten them, they usually just change the color of your rubber bands. Unless you get a lot of work done on one of your check-ups, they usually don't hurt too bad. I heard getting them off causes a little soreness too, but I don't have mine off yet.

It hurts for a couple days when you get them on, but for your normal checkups for tightening it doesn't. It also hurts for a couple days when you get new wires. At the end it's pretty bad cuz you get really thick wires, but it's not terrible and i only took tylenol once for it.

It hurts a lot, but you can handle it, I'm sure. You start to get used to the pain after a while.
