Since smoking is harmful to the lungs and drinking makes people do bad things and is harmful to the liver.

I of course am referring to cigarettes which contain tar and crud, and beer which is nothing but troll sweat.

The things in themselves would not be evil. The abuse of them would be. Likewise, the occasional beer or cig is not "evil," but if one acquires a habit to such an extent that one does damage to oneself, then that would be evil (the act of harming oneself, that is, not the beer and cigarettes per se).

By the way, just a thought, the question might be better phrased should smokig and drinking be considered evil. Normally, people don't decide whether something should be evil or not. It either is or it isn't evil and people either consider it to be or not to be evil.

Cigarettes, possibly, but I also advocate getting rid of the auto which puts pollutants that cause cancer, have tar and other crud into God's good air.

What would Christians say if God said the Mark of the Beast was the Auto and anyone who drove one had the mark!

I don't personally think God nor Jesus would approve of the car any more or less than of cigarettes.

Well, you are going to have to add a great deal more things to your list of evil if the definition you have set in place is that evil is anything that can be harmful to your body or potentially harmful to anothers.

Sickness is going to have to now be considered evil. It is not only harmful to your body, but can be given to another and harm them.

Breathing is going to have to now be considered evil. THere are awful airborn bacteria and viruses that can harm our bodies.

Honestly, evil is anything done against God and his will, not things that we as humans find offensive at any given time in culture and history. Smoking is not mentioned in the bible at all and drinking wine is mentioned as allowable under different circumstances. Drunkeness is not allowed at all.

if that was to be evil then most of all the people in this world is going to hell. WOW! I just put that out too. Yes Cigarettes are no good for your body and most of it is because Man put allot of extra nasty crap into cigs. now the drinking. its not good for ya but as long as you are not drinking 24/7 you are fine.
I drink when i get the chance to go out with my husband, but that is unlikely because we have two kids.

oh and to add to your question....What about tats and Piercings? that is doing something to your body. I guess i would be all Evil!
I don't smokes cigs anymore, but i drink sometimes, i have two tats and three piercings. lol I AM THE DEVIL! lol!

Smoking is a defilement of the body, excessive drinking is bad, but in moderation is OK, such as a glass of red wine with dinner as red wine in moderation is proven healthy for your heart. Smoking is also not showing love for your neighbor as second hand smoke causes health problems for people who do not smoke themselves. Wheat beer is mentioned in the Bible.

It's harmful, but it's an addiction as well. Alcohol is dangerous in large quantites, but in moderation is actually quite healthy (more healthy than tap water) but again, only in moderation.

if abused, it can lead to violence. Cigarettes can't be associated with evil. It's just a dead plant.

It amazes me how everyone tries to tie everything into religion by slapping the word evil or holy on to it. Smoking causes lung cancer and heart disease. Drinking causes liver damage and many people are killed each year by drunk drivers. Evil? How about just plain stupid!
