I have a friend that had this boyfriend, she cheated on him, he took her back and then cheated on her. This has been going on for TWO YEARS!!!
They have been hanging out for the last few months as boyfriend and girlfriend, HOWEVER, he is still seeing other people but still professing his connection to her. She is way wrapped up in him and insists that he will ultimately choose her.

I disagree adamantly!

I have been listening to her whine and complain about this for a whole year and I am sick and tired of it. She has NOTHING but this to talk about.
Here are my questions.....

Does it make her look pathetic to continue to chase him?
AND
Am I a bad friend because I can no longer deal with this cycle as it is causing me great pain to watch this trainwreck for the last YEAR?

We are all in our late twenties, so this is NOT a juvenille question.

Its not a juvenile question, just a juvenile situation. These two individuals are "toxic" to you and themselves. From experience I can tell you, they are in this mess for all the wrong reasons. If they were in love, this wouldn't be happening. Not REAL love. Love requires trust, honesty, and to be Self-less. It is unconditional. When truly in love, one does not intentionally deceive the other in this way and put their feelings first. Neither of them are ready for that kind of relationship. You don't deserve this torment either. Tell her how you feel. Then, back away and take a break until she can see the light for herself.

tell her what i told my freind when the exact thing happend to me. i just told her that if she doesnt dump him then she doesnt need to complain about how he treats her. she knows how he treats her so if she sticks with him then it can only be blamed on her. you shouldnt have to hear the same tired reruns about her and her boiz problems. you can also tell her that since you had to specify that this was not a juvinile question that just tells you how old she is acting!!
