I was dating an English guy who was here on work exchange. We were together for one year but made "no promises". Long storey short, six months later (after a handful of unenthusiatic emails on both our parts) he emails saying that he got a permanent position here and will be back in a few months. THEN he adds that he has a girlfriend who will be coming out for a few months!!!! and if I'm still his friend will I be nice to her!!!!

I guess what I want to know is, do you think what he had will naturally grow stronger once he's here and I should just ride this out OR should I work hard on wooing him back.

He completely electrifies me!!!!

work hard on wooing him back, let the other girl know about your and his past relationship though. maybe you can work a threesome? That would be hot. Besides, she'll probably end up going back to england anyway, and you'll have him all to yourself. You can't blame the guy for getting involved with someone else after he returned home... can you?

He is a jerk for asking that of you, or maybe he just doesn't realize that you aren't friends?

Friends don't act jealous in this way, and hence it's hard to be friends with exes as you already know.

At this point, I don't think it a good idea to try to win him back. If you don't want to act friendly towards his new gf, you cannot be friends with him either.

Woo!

I don't mean you should, I just like the way that sounds.

I'm not answering seriously because I don't believe you are seriously asking this question.

Ummm, he has a GF. Don't try to win him back. That will just prove to you that he is easily swayed and can be easily swayed away from you.

Either be his and her friend or don't have anything to do with them. I go with the second choice.

The fact that he's bringing her back and wants you to be forced to be around her, AND be NICE to her, says he doesn't repect your feelings. That is just rude. I would cut off all communication with him.

If it's meant to be you will be together. If you have to fight for or compete for him it's not worth it.
