Almost everynight, right ten minutes after I lay down, my nose (left) clugges up and I have to spray on it to keep it close? Is this alergy? Nose problem? need Surgery? I can not keep spraying in my nose evry night.

Thanks all. To add, this is the right nose only and not left.

I have a similar problem that my allergy and asthma doctor calls rhinitis - it has to do with your sinuses and continuous exposure to allergens - unfortunately I'm still searching for the source(s). Seeing an allergy specialist or ear, nose, throat doctor would be a good idea - even if they can't pin what's wrong they can help relieve the problem.
Right now I'm on a nose spray called nasocort that is helping keep my sinuses open and clear. Also,I'm flushing my sinuses multiple times a day with a water, salt, baking soda solution to clear any allergens from my nasal passage. This is definitely helping - I have fewer problems with my nose clogging when I lay down.

First, when did the problem start ? Any changes in your room around that time ?

Check your room, bedding and pillow. Are any of these things new or very old ? Any area in the room that is mildewing ?

This can be causing the problem. Correct the problem if you can. If not, you may need to take an allergy pill nightly, such as Benadryl ( a plus side effect is that it makes you drowsy).

Hi MNK6

Your body is trying to rid of toxins/waste and you're surpressing it everynight! Let it flow out by eating some cayenne pepper, onions, garlic, or horseradish root. These will help the healing process by killing the infection and letting the mucus flow freely. Be sure to drink a gallon of water a day as well to flush out the toxins.

Best of health to you

Which side do you lay on? It may be that you are mildly allergic to dander and need to wash your bedding more frequently, and run your pillows through the fluff cycle of your dryer to get the dander and dust out of them.

Good luck!

Try Breathe Right strips, or the generic equivalent.
