If a man really fancies you but sees you in a very professional capacity, will things develop anyway if both are sending flirting signals? If you keep getting closer each time you see each other is it just a foregone conclusion for him to tell you he likes you or do something physical? Or would he most likely wait for her to do something? Anybody been in this situation of having strong feelings for someone in this way? If so how did it turn out?

The most common way for a relationship to evolve is starting off as a friendship and then getting closer in time. I don't think it matters how professional things are. If you are close and attracted to each other then something will happen or wont. You can't false things. Just let things naturally progress.

The flirting is okay though and probably show the other person there is something there to work on.

No rules on who makes the first move. Whoever feels more comfortable I guess.

I think you;re right about the close proximity thing which is why I think it is important to develop a relationship with a person that is not purely physical first. Once you know the person and know that they like you for who are, then when they like you for what you have, it will be an added bonus and you will have the guarantee that the relationship will last.
My advice would be talk to him, get to know him before you too start making a move on each other. It can only lead to a passionate relationship, and when that is gone the relationship will end abruptly because you never had any other parameters to it.

Oh, the hormones will win every time. Just relax and go with the feelings and, if there is no reason you shouldn't get together, you'll certainly get closer. BUT, at some point, someone has to step up and make the first comment and it just as well be you.

I bet he'll need a nudge. Flirting is one thing, and he might wish for more, but if there are other things in the way, you could have a very long wait on your hands if you leave it just to him.
