I love salsa, but I do not like the chunky type that the grocery stores have. Can anyone recommend one sold at the grocery store that is not chunky. Amd I would rather buy some than make it at home if possible.

Thanks.

look at store, there are many salsas that are more finely ground, or use fewer vegetables (often the hotter ones)
Look around, or throw in food processor if you want a smoother consistency.

I hate chunky salsa too but I have never found any smooth salsa in the stores that I like. But there is Chi Chi's brand you can buy at the grocery store. Also, Tostitos and Old El Paso have restaurant style salsas.

I use my food processor, or blender or even a hand mixer (I live on a boat and don't always have 110v electric) to break up the chunks and make it nice and smooth. The best salsa to use for this is regular old Pace Picante sauce in whichever temp. you like.

You do not mention where you are, but I hope that you have an HEB store. Ask the manager if they carry ARIBE (pronounced uh-ree-bay) salsa. It is made with roasted chili peppers and tomatoes that tastes very much like the authentic salsa you get in Mexican restaurants. This is the ONLY salsa we use. I hate pace and all the other chunky ones.

My son loves salsa but hates the chunks, he puts his salsa in a food processor to get rid of the chunks but keeps the flavour

You might want to consider Picante Sauce. It's like salsa, but it's more liquid than chunky. It's more pureed than regular salsa.
Pace makes a good picante sauce.

Salsa, by definition, is made form diced tomatoes (and other stuff). The only way to make it smooth would be to make it yourself, OR just run the store-bought stuff through your food processor.

You could always buy one of your favourites that is chunky, put it in a blender or food processor, and give a 15-second pulse. That ought to make it finer for you.
