Hello, Im considering going out with a protestant Man. He doesn't know Im not christian. I would sincerely like to know what is it that makes you different from being catholic or church of england.

I know the basic tenants of christanity so I don't need clarification with those.

Im sincerely wondering what is different. Would he perhaps insist on me being baptisted protestant? Would he insist any children be protestant? I know the catholic church insists you bring up your children catholic.

These are all sincere questions I mean no ridicule or disrespect.

The Protestant Churches teach Scripture, with no traditions added to it.
The Bible teaches that Scripture alone is the supreme and infallible authority for the church and the individual believer. This is not to say that creeds and tradition are unimportant, but the Bible alone is our final authority. Creeds and tradition are man made.
Jesus said, "Scripture cannot be broken" (John 10:35). He said "I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished" (Matthew 5:18). He said, "It is easier for heaven and earth to disappear than for the least stroke of a pen to drop out of the law" (Luke 16:17).
Jesus used Scripture as the final court of appeal in every matter under dispute. He said to some Pharisees, "You nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down" (Mark 7:13). To the Sadducee's He said, "You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God". (Mat 22:29). To the devil, Jesus consistently responded, "It is written..." (Mat 4:4-10). So following Jesus' lead, the Scriptures alone are our supreme and final authority.
The Protestants broke from the Catholic church because they did not agree with the traditions that were being held as the authority, rather than God's word the Bible.

As far as Catholic goes Protestants don't believe Mary is on an equal level as Jesus, When protestants take communion we don't believe we are actually drinking the blood of Christ or eating Christ as Catholics do. Not all Catholics believe that way but a lot do. Religion is something y'all would have to discuss and agree upon. Please getthis out of the way bfore you have kids Protestants would rather you bringyour kids up in a Protestant home but we won't ex comunicate you or anything of that nature. I don't know about the Church of England sorry.

Prostetants are different thean catholics in the fact that they do not have a pope. They do not believe that youneed a pope in order to pray to God, and that you can always pray straight to Him because He is always listening. There is no need for a pope. As long as you have Faith and follow Him then you are pretty good. There are many different denominations of Prostetant, too. There is Lutheran, Baptist, Apiscapal, etc. Prostetants are usually not as strict as Catholics when it comes to certain things though. And if he truly likes you and if he is a good protestant, he would not care what you choose to believe in (as long as u aren't like a Satanist or anything).

This is really hard. There are about 3 zillion kinds of Protestants and only three kinds of Catholic, divided into Pope or not.

So, are you a believing Jew or Muslim? If so, you can't marry anyone outside.

I kind of guess you're not a believer at all, so I think you have to discuss religion with your prospective husband on a serious level.

Jeez, I know you're really stuck on him, but if he won't go along with your disbelief, forget about it. You will never be happy.

The form of government is different.
Catholics have one man as their final authority, than arch bishops , than bishops, than the priests. (or somthin like thta)

Protestants have men and pastors together in a denominational assembly as the final authority, than they have prsbyteries, which is men and pastors from churches in a certain area together, than its the session, which is men and the pastor in a single church. (somthin along those lines)

I am unsure about the church of england.

There some major doctine differences too.

it variety of feels enormously obtrusive to me that is effective to be Catholic. truly i have had the countless an similar recommendations about the time period Christian in the previous. Definitions change as time is going through. in the course of the time presently after Jesus's Resurrection there have been many various words for the those that believed in him and pronounced him. words together with Christian, Agnostics. etc. After the church separated into Roman and Greek, Catholics nevertheless called themselves Christians. i imagine the terminology of Christian extremely were given taken remote from the Catholics even as Martin Luther broke remote from the Catholic Church. He all started his personal Church... no matter if he develop into ordained a clergyman, so that they are nevertheless part of the Catholic Church no matter if no longer Catholic yet Christian. Later as human beings persevered to brake remote from the Catholic Church yet nevertheless trust in Jesus only no longer each and each and every of the teachings of the Catholic Church it only grew to develop into known for them to call themselves Christians. maximum human beings do not comprehend the Catholic Church, they don't comprehend that it develop into the first Christian church all started through Jesus. when I hear someone call themselves Christian I only imagine Protestant. that is enormously a lot an similar because the way Libertarians ought to call themselves that somewhat of utilising the time period classical liberal... because the time period liberal is so heavily on the difficulty of leftist perspectives somewhat of a loose marketplace society with small authorities. even as all is asserted and carried out I come to the conclussion we are all persons seeing issues from thoroughly different factors of view. Too frequently human beings pick to positioned generalizations on cultures/races/religions. interior the bible there is one ingredient Christians can all agree on and that is that everybody we be judged through God man or woman for the existence that human being lead. in the previous Christians/Catholics/or everyone from any faith says what's authentic or no longer authentic through God they ought to imagine of the outcomes of misinforming human beings of what's inaccurate or properly.

We believe in whatever we feel like. No Pope or ArchBishop tells us what to do and how to worship. Thus you can have widely varied views from Predestination and Grace to the liberals who see nothing wrong with gay marraiges.
