Should christians spank their children?

I just heard of a new law that's being observed, but not in effect, that spanking kids 4 years old and younger gives you 6 months in jail.

If we're not allowed to spank them, then what the hell are we supposed to do? When I was a kid, I got spanked if I did something wrong. It's called punishment. If we don't punish our kids, then they will be raised in a horrible manner. See, this no-spanking rule is retarded. That's the reason we have rebellious teenagers who want cell phones. That's the reason for school dropouts. That's the reason that99% of the world's population will eventually contrulled under autocracy.

No. I will spank my kids, and no one's gonna tell me otherwise.

If you believe in christianity it dose say spare the rod ... something .. meaning in lamest terms that you should spank your child as not to spoil the child ...
I personally do not believe in christianity therefore do not follow this practice ...
My overall theroy personally is this ...
As parents we are "teachers" everything a child comes to no to learn should be 1st and foremost from us it is our overall responsibilty ...
If you are spanking your child then how can you in turn teach that child NOT to hit another ...
Example : a child sees another doing something wrong the child ends up hitting him ...
Well if you are spanking your child and teaching him that you are doing so because he has done something wrong .... then you cant very well teach him not to act out in the same manner ....
You can use physical actions to resovle bad choices you show them what they have done wrong , explain the consequences and punish them in alternitive ways ...
You can take something away from them whether it be a privliage , a planned event , a toy , whatever is something relavent to what they have done wrong ...

Yes. By all means. God tells us that a man that spares the rod hates his child. He also tells us to apply the rod, and spare not for their crying. It is sound docrtrine. It works when used properly., and out of love. The Strong's concordance defines 'rod' as a tree branch, or as we call it, a switch. They do work. Lazy parenting my a s s, pardon my french. As much as people would like to think that they know more or better than God does, they don't. God said it will not kill them. Of course it will not kill them. He meant that it was not a cruel way to punish them. When I was young, my mother used spanking as a means of punishment. I have never been in any serious trouble in my 46 years. Never been in prison, do not have a record. It works.

2 billion Christians in historic past have not spanked their baby to dying. And the Bible says to continually attempt spirits simply by fact they'll pose and make it easier to be attentive to terrible anti-God issues to do. The law in Canada is that you may spank you children with your hand, but you may not use an object. (paddle, strap, etc.)
