They have a high salt content, but not overly fattening. Everything is ok, as long as you have it in moderation.

They are terribly unhealthy - 22 grams of fat per package (believe it or not - they're fried) and though I can't remember the exact sodium count, it was around 1300mg (the daily allowance is 2000). You must be from the USA. In Canada, everything has to be labelled with all the info (calories, fat, etc.). That was how I found out and was appalled and shocked! They are such a little package and yet there's so much fat! If you are on a tight budget, go for macaroni instead. Lost of carbs, but not the fat or sodium!

Instant noodles were developed during WW II by the Japanese because it was easy to keep and carry and when they could they would cook them and gain nourishment. It saved a lot of lives. Today when I eat them I don't use but half the spice pack and use the other
half in other cookings such as soups or stews.

With the exception of the insanely amount of sodium, instant noodles are chocked full of heathly stuff... like...vitamin N (for noodles), and that mineral that can only be found in pre-package, freeze-dried, reconstituted vegetables. And countless other nutritious ingredients held secret to the multi-international instant noodle making conglomerates.

VERY unhealthy. They are high in sodium, calories and fat, which are all bad for you in this large a quantity.

They provide little in the way of nutrition such as vitamins, minerals, fiber or protein, so basically, they are "fat in a cup" or bowl and are very bad for you.

They give you little energy, too, per oz/calorie, and so are deceiving as they fill you up (in your sense of fullness), but they do no good for your body or health.

Eat them very rarely, if at all.

I know they're cheap and easy to make and eat, but that's also a good indicator of how bad they are for you.

Good quality food, that is good for you, does tend to cost a bit more per item or per pound.

But it is SOOOOOO worth it.
