you hardly ever see beef heart in display case ,at the grocery store .because it's ground in with the other ground beef . you don't know it unless you see it being ground up for your self . it's meat too!

Heart is a much darker muscle than other meat. You would notice it if it was mixed in with ground beef.
The reason the ground beef is so red, is it is kept from oxygen. The oxygen reacts with the blood left in the meat and turns it brown.

they use red dye to keep the color because its usally kind of gray.
