I'm not talking about a stage whisper. I mean in places where you're supposed to be quiet (library, movie theater, when somebody is obviously trying to tell you something privately). And before anyone tries to say it's a "black thing", I just want to mention that it appears to be a global "thing." Have you noticed this too?

I think it's getting really bad! Even in theatres people are just loud and obnoxious. I don't think it's as much an art that people haven't mastered, I think it's more like they don't care. Thoughtfulness of people around you shows great character!
p.s. it is FOR SURE not a "black thing" ;)

This seems to be a problem with some people no matter where you go. Some people don't have the manners to lower their voices, or they just aren't considerate enough to respect the environment that they are sharing with other people. The only thing you can do is just make the best of it and try to get along with them.

Yes! It's terrible. Whispering in quiet places is being polite... I really hate it when I ask someone to whisper and they say, loudly, "I don't HAVE to whisper!". It's just soooo rude and disrespectful to other people.
And yes, you are absolutely correct - it's all colors.

Yes, I hate it when people do that. And white people definitely do that. It's embarassing when you are the one being whispered to and people stare.
