My husband and I share dropping off and picking up our daughter at day-care (I drop off, he picks up).
Now being 9-months old, she has grown out of her infant car seat. Will we need to purchase 2 convertible car seats, one for each of our cars OR do they come with a base, similar to the infant car seats?

How a lot do youpersistent? in case your newborn will be interior the automobile each day, for most miles, that is well worth choosing an toddler seat. There are countless motives: first, a convertible automobile seat works superb, although that isn't any longer extraordinarily comfy, so that you'll likely ought to purchase an insert (like the Snuzzler - see link) to make it comfortable. 2d, some dad and mom say that their newborn wakes up on the move from automobile to domicile if the toddler isn't in an toddler provider. if you're interior the automobile frequently, that toddler seat will be very worn certainly through the time you're prepared to graduate to the subsequent length up. And ultimately, you may purchase a convertible that begins at 20 kilos and lasts longer ... so that you'll stretch your dollar someplace alongside the way. because wepersistent hardly, we went with a convertible seat that worked from start to easily about age 3. yet we spent a lot of money on a Britax so it had a cleanable/truly replaceable liner. And we washed the liner plenty, esp. pondering how little we drove. If we may been extra reliant on our automobile and had between the a lot less intense priced fashions the position you should sponge off the completed seat? i do not imagine it may've worked so nicely - noticeably even as he develop right into a leaky toddler! And we also bought a Snuzzler, so as that develop into yet another $20 or so. maximum youngsters flow via a minimum of two, if no longer 3 automobile/booster seats in the previous they age out of them. there is not any way round it.

We have one in each of our cars. Unlike the infant carrier, the entire carseat stay in the car at all times. On the bright side--this carseat will last you a lot longer than the first one. Ours goes up to 50 lbs, our 3 1/2 year old is still only 33 lbs. He'll be in it until our daughter is out of her infant carrier, then we'll move him into a booster seat.

Well some models *do* have a base that is removable. It isn't removable when the seat is installed. So you will need two seats, unless you want to reinstall them all the time, which is a PITA
