In a situation were you get a message like this, the uninstaller of the program is either missing or has become corrupted
a simple and effective solution to this is to install the program again(it must be the same version 1.4) and then uninstal this, when it uninstalls it will take the installed version plus the version you put in,as it takes all data thats to do with spybot 1.4
this method works with most applications, also why note read this info on spybot uninstallation..http://www.safer-networking.org/en/faq/27.html
i hope this has helped you
good luck

First, make sure Spybot is indeed deleted. Go to C: (or whatever drive you have installed it on) > Programs > Spybot - Search& Destroy. If the file SpybotSD.exe (or SpybotSD) is still present then Spybot is most likely still installed on your computer. If you do not see the progrram then it has been deleted and only orphan files remain - they are innocous.
Spybot comes with an uninstaller. However, on rare ocassions, they fail to uninstall Spybot for various reasons. In situations such as these, you have 2 options. You can do nothing and leave the files as they are or you can use an uninstaller program. I should warn you that sometimes trying to remove a stubborn program can do more harm than good. By far the best installers I have used are those found in popular system utility suites, in particular TuneUp Utilities 2007 and Iolo's System Mechanic 6. Both suites contain an uninstaller program which will remove any traces of a program. Both suites are commercial products but they do come with a 30 free trial period. I recommend you try TuneUp first. You can download the suite from http://www.tune-up.com/download/tu2007/
1. Download and install the program
2. Start the program and choose "Administer Control" > "Uninstall Manager."
3. Wait for TuneUp to scan your computer for installed programs.
4. Scroll down until you see Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.4
5. Right click it and select "Uninstall."
6. TuneUp automatically creates a restore point just in case something goes wrong.

Its one of the best anti-spyware tools you can get but may be able to uninstall with CC Cleaner tools if you want to.
