When do I know when a avacado is ready to be used ofr guac dip? Last time they were too hard. Please help!

They will feel soft when you give them a gentle squeeze.....

Your avocados should have a black outer skin. Sometimes I will buy them green and put them in a paper bag for a 2-3 days until they are black and soft. Don't let them get too ripe. When you squeeze it they should give but not be smooshy. Try mashing them, use some lime or lemon juice so they don't turn brown and add a couple of tablespoons of salsa. It will make great guacamole!

they should be a little soft, not mushy and nice and black on the outside..not green. also don't buy any with dents in them..that means they are over ripe and the taste isn't so good.

black color of the skin, not hard but not mushy, it should give a little when you squeeze. don't get one with any bruises or anything either.
