A friend and I were arguing about what men get up to in strip clubs. I feel it is harmless fun and that they are not allowed to touch so who cares. However, my friend thinks there is a lot more on offer than the what the club can declare. What are the big london strip clubs like and should we be worried?

Sexuality is part of the human condition that we all owe our very lives to. Isn't it strange how many hang-ups we seem to have about it? In answer to your question, I'm going to give it the dreaded "It depends." I know, I know--how easy to say. But at the same time it's not. Here's why:
1) It depends on the man in the strip club. Even if strippers were allowed to touch (or more), not every guy would allow it. Before calling me a liar, please know that I am a man--a very happilly married man at that--who recognizes that giving into a temptation (touching or allowing myself to be touched) would jeapordise the level of trust and commitment I have vowed for my wife. But my wife isn't stupid (I wouldn't have married her if she were!), and knows that I still find women attractive. I'm a guy! And it's only fair that I not hold it against her for being attracted to other men--she's not dead! But since we're both committed to each other, and see sex as an expression of that love and committment... it's eye candy. It's like asking if it's senseless fun for a dieter to go into a candy store: If they're serrious about their diet, they won't buy or eat anything there. Weird analogy... but does that make sense?
2) Many of these strippers are in relationships themselves. So not all of them would take it any further than their profession allows--I've even seen several shake a finger as well as their heads when a guy tries something he shouldn't. They flirt just hard enough to keep the money coming in. And those football-player looking guys standing by the doors? They're only there for one reason--ONE reason: To make sure that no means no.
So it depends! On the guy, and the stripper invovled! When it's only used for the sexual charge--the need to feel alive and wanted (even though logic shoots this illusion down... aren't you paying for the attention?)--I agree with you. It's harmless fun. It can also prove for couples the level of trust they have in one another; if you find yourself insanely jealous that your wife went to the Chipendale's show... there's an underlying issue there. And I also see where you'd have an issue if your boyfriend went to these places frequently, with or without you... there's fun and there's excess. That, of course, is a highly subjective thing and will vary from couple to couple.
As far as London clubs go... you know what? I really even have trouble seeing where religious people (nothing against anyone reading--just expressing my opinion and nothing more) have a problem. If you beleive in God, I'd think you'd be giving Him kudos for creating such a monument of beauty--who doesn't like, to whatever degree, the appearance of someone who takes care of themselves? Who doesn't enjoy that zing of desire? I'd think you'd want to appreciate the view, so long as you could also respect the person you're admiring and make sure both parties are comfortable with what's going on. It's not only possible, it's the majority rule--if it weren't, NO ONE would want to strip... they'd be throwing themselves into fire each and every night!

Even if there is touching it is harmless. So the girl sits on his
lap and he grabs her butt or plays with her boobs. It doesn't mean he is in love with this girl.
Keep it inprespective. It is just fun. It is a business deal. Nothing more.
However most men that go to strip clubs for lap dances go there because there wifes will not give them any physical affection and they are desperate for anything even if they know it is not real.
If this is the case then it is indicitive that something is really wrong with the relationship. My opinion. I have been there done that.

all strip clubs are different. most of the times you cant touch but there are some nasty places where as long as you hav the cash you can work whatever you want.
i live in the US and as badly as i want to go to london i have no idea exactly what they are like.

ALL strip joints have back rooms and they ain't just for dancin'. For a price a man can get whatever he pleases in those kind of places. BEWARE IT CAN BECOME HABIT FORMING! On the main floor they offer lap dancing...that is touching and teasing.

ha, i just watched the full monty movie last night. I dont think you should worry, if you dont trust your guy then you have bigger problems than him going out with the guys. Of course everything can be had for a price, but it would be easier for him to chase after his secretary or the neighbor chick or some streetwalker for hire than hook up with some stripper.
