I have always had more than one dog at a time, and a male and female always worked out well. Right now I have a 5 year old male Pit Bull and 1 year old yellow male Lab. The two are the best of friends, never fight and eat from the same bowl. These two are the closest out of the different pairs.

I have had no trouble having any of these combinations (and I've had all at some timre or another). I think it does have a lot to do with the individual dogs and age differences. I hear females with other females sometimes don't get on well, but ours are doing okay.

I am fostering 2 female Lab puppies and they are doing great growing up together. Dominance between them was set very early on.

Neither, two are MUCH harder than one and they tend to bond more with each other than you. Get one and then wait a year or so.

I wouldn't sell two pups to your average pet owner. I have seen too many people that are way over their heads with two pups.
