I am still very bitter from my Navy experiance. Moving on and getting on with my life as best as I can, but also I would like that I could save a few people the misery of the LIES the Job detailers, Recruiters proclaim as truth. I would like to see a counter to the proganda.
The liberals didn't change my attitude, it was the Government that changed my attitude.

Some of the things to watch out for, If you are in the DEP program, You CAN get out of it. If they give you a crappy MOS that you do not want, you are not under in obiligation to enlist. You can walk out of MEPS.

No matter what service, don't fall for "You can cross rate after (six, nine, 18 monthes)" it is actually at or toward the end of your enlistment, in most cases at the end of your Planned Rotation Date, which ever is later.

The Navy was a complete waste of time.

I signed it under my own free will, but I believe the BS the job detailer told me. Which I wish I didn't. I served honorable, never got into any trouble, RE-R1, MKB, Honorable.
It was a complete waste of time. I did not get anything out of it, I wanted to get more out of it, such as a useful skill. Which I came in and left with the same skill set.

Get over it. Bottom line is recruiter are there to get you in. They sometimes lie to do this. No it isn't right but its up to YOU to research. My recruiter told me lies as well but I checked them out told him what i wanted and got it or i wasn't going in. Hell, i am a liberal and love my country and served it proudly so get over it.

LOL just move on... Recruiters etc have been lying since the US Military was first formed.. Its as common as a used car salesman not being quite honest, or a cop lying to get a confession.. its regular and routien.. and well even expected..

You arent likely gonna save anyone from anything.. you know how people are.. we dont realise anything is a mistake until we make that mistake ourselves...

There is a very easy way to tell if a recruiter is lying... His Lips Move ...

Here's a tip our daughter was told before she enlisted.....
Did you get it in writing? She was always warned that ANYTHING a recruiter says you should ask to have PUT IN WRITING! If you don't, they never said it! Just another tip to pass on to those thinking about enlisting.

You signed up for DEP without knowing what your MOS would be? And if you joined the military with a "what can the military do for me?" attitude, I'm not surprised you didn't learn much. What did you bring to the table?

What good is experience for, if not to keep others from repeating those mistakes?

Counter the propoganda. Protect those who do not deserve to repeat your unfair experience.
