Algee and some micro organisms grow better in warm water and they kill fish and other organisms. When a member of a food chain is removed the organisms that depend on that organism will die if they can not find another food source.

Warm water has not caused mass extinctions - at least not yet. Extinction of freshwater species has been caused largely by chemical pollution of water, introduction of exotic species, and alteration of hydrologic regimes in rivers and streams by dams and water withdrawals.

I'm not sure that any species has gone extinct due to warming water, but there are many species whose ranges have shrunk considerably from warm water, which puts them at extremely high risk for extinction in the near future.

With ocean water warming, some life species in the sea, capable of surviving only in a narrow range of temperatures, begin to die. This affects the food chain: other species which eat the dying species are also at risk to disappear. One group of animals at risk is the coral; more at the sources.

I know that coral reefs around the world have been getting devastated by the increase in the ocean temperature. The ocean
is a complex environment. Some speicies cannot handle the increase in temperature.

I think it's because of "global warming" the temperature of the water in oceans is rising...so creatures that are living in these waters which are cold water creatures can't survive in these areas where temperature is rising..

also polar bares are found allot drowning...that's also because of global warming..when the go from one ice platform to a anorther it'll brake cause it melted & not strong..so the bares go swimming looking for something to get on ..now they face a long swimm so they drown... :(
