First, you must be extremely careful on the flea control product you use on kittens. Make sure it is specifically for kittens. If not DO NOT and I emphasize DO NOT use it. You will kill your kitten. Next to control your flea infestation you have to break the life cycle. Flea bombing your home or having a pest control proffesional do it for you will give you a start but you will have to do it again in about 14 days when the eggs hatch and turn into larvea. Most flea products will not kill the flea while it is still in the egg cycle.

If your cat is at least 8 weeks old then you should use Front Line Spot on. It comes in a small ampule that you drip on your cat's back. You must apply one treatment each month until you have not seen any fleas for 3 months.

It is really the only product I have found to work. You can find it at Nutrecare website in the UK,

Daily vacuuming also helps tremendously.
Please avoid all of the sprays and powders they are useless as you have found.

you can use advantage flea control treatments. since you have a kitten, you'll want to use just a little, not the entire capsule, then repeat in about 2 months. you will not have to exterminate the fleas around your house. with this product they will die on their own. they also have front-line. DO NOT USE ANYTHING FROM HARTZ pet products, they are deadly to animals and not recommended by vetenarians. Petco/Petsmart carry Frontline or Advantage, if not then you can call a Human Society to advise you where to get it, sometimes they carry it and sell it for a bit less than the stores.

You are going to have to do the cat and the house. They are very persist. The cycle can continue for a long time. You may have to do it a few times as the eggs sometimes live through the spray.

you can carry in fleas & their eggs on your socks & shoes from being outside. Then you go into your home and reinfest it that way
