Do you find it acceptable for many churches to not go to church Sunday night for the super bowl? I know that many people do not. There are many times when churches do wrong things, but i think getting one night off could actually help the pastor rest as many pastors live busy lives. On the otherhand, God should be our first in everything. We should follow him always and get as much as him as we can. So asking off for church seems like giving into the sercular world...what do you think

I am not Christian, however, I would think that your God doesn't need 24/7 worship. The reality is that the pastor lives here and now. Enjoying the pleasures of the Earth that God created (and we expanded upon) wouldn't seem to be a bad thing. Isn't that partly what God wanted when he put humans here? I doubt your God wanted people to constantly worship and that is all. I agree that the pastor should be allowed to have relaxation time. I'm sure as close as he is to God, God will understand.

I don't think God cares. The church I go to only has an Sunday evening service once a month.

That's why God invented the Sunday MORNING Service.

The Bible says not to forsake worship services. But it don't say you have to go every time there's a service. Why go if your heart's not in it? I don't think God gonna be mad. I didn't go to church last week just because I didn't feel like it, and I don't feel any guilt or any less a Christian.

I don't think its acceptable to put anything in the place of church service. In this day and age the game can be taped and watched later.

I don't think it is acceptable to God.

That is why we can record the game & watch it later.

If the superbowl is more important than praising God and hearing Gods message, then superbowl is an idol in ones life.

god isn't paying attention to whether or not people are going to church today, he's too busy watching the pre-game on his plasma.
