I have had kidney problems ruled out. Have no other sypmtoms and feel generally well although I do feel excessively tired. I was diagnosed with Polycysitc ovarian syndrome a year ago and have been told that there is no significant problem there. The pain is more of an uncomfortable ache and I have had it for about 3 months now, have been to the doctors but they just keep giving me urine tests. It seems that the ache is normally lower right. Does anyone know what this could be as it is really starting to wear me down and I don't feel i'm getting anywhere with the doctor. Thankyou guys xx

This is a problem with many people. There are so many kinds of conditions that produce lower back pain.Your Doctors may have eliminated some of the common types of things that cause this type of pain. {Cystitis, STD's, kidney problems} I have not seen your medical records, but it might be time to see a GOOD orthopedic surgeon and have a MRI and Xrays done to your spine. I have sent you some good material on various back problems. Good luck and I hope this helped..loligo1@yahoo.com

The duration of your pain-more than three months-seems to indicate a possible problem in your vertebrae. A torn muscle or ligament would have healed long ago. It's possible you have a herniated disk in your lower lumbar area. This condition can take a very long time to heal. The fact that the pain is on one side could mean the herniated disk is contacting your sciatic nerve. Although this is a much more painful condition than you describe. It sounds to me like you need to see another doctor, I think they're looking in the wrong place. Ideally, an MRI would be the best way to find out what's going on. If you can, see a specialist in back problems.

This could be because of muscle fatigue or dehydration. Try exercising all parts of your body. It also sometimes is due to disuse atrophy. Consult a doctor if it persists. You can also look for information in the web. I found this website very useful. http://aches.in/cramps.html

Bowel problems. See a chiropractor that deals with that sort of thing. He will most likely put you on some herbal supplements to rid your guts of the bacteria or bugs that are causing the problem.

Perhaps you need to request an MRI to get down to the real cause of your problems.
