I've been homeschooling 4 11 yrs it's alot of fun! What I suggest is for you to use A beka video program it has the best teachers! What it's like is like a real school setting with students w/ the exception there all well behaved and quiet. I usually get done around one or two. I went to a private school in 7th grade and I can honestly say I've learned alot more just homeschooling for 9 weeks then I did for that whole year at my private school. Homeschooling is gr-8 don't even think about social life there's homeschoolers that get together and have fun events I think it's called ko-oup or something like that . anyway it's great! Try homeschooling you'll never know till you try!!!

My first thought is this:

Children who go to school are obviously around other kids five days a week, seven or eight hours a day. So yes they socailize with other children.... But is it good socalization? or bad socailization? Don't you think mabye kids who are around each other to much pick up bad habits or mabye suffer with peer pressure, clicks, stress, to much homework and not enough time to develop who he or she is as an indiviual. When I was in school all the kids shared lunches with their hands, didn't clean up their lunch tables, were disrespectful, and did not behave like they should.

Now homeschooling:
Many say homschoolers cannot socailize because they don't go to school and they become shy or they don't know how to interact with other children. But what they don't know is, that homeschoolers can actually develop more who they actually are and not follow all the clicks and queen bees at school. Homschoolers have the oppourtuinity to learn what they are interested in at their own pace and schedule. Acheive goals they couldn't acheive with all the homework and 'pointless wasted class time' in school. And trust me... there was alot of it when I was in school. Now when I joined my local Homschooling group all the kids were respectful, they cleaned their lunch tables and were behaving like they should. They were quiet when instructed and did as they were told. Homeschoolers are not 'unsocial' they just learn in a different way!

Its a great idea if you like being done before lunch. I used to be homeschooled and 90% of the time i was finished before 12. We started at 8 in the morning. Plus u can be sick and not get in trouble n such haha.

Homeschooling is a great idea. I will start doing this with my children also. I thought of it because my oldest son has problems in school because he has Aspergers syndrome. As for the socializing part, I dont see any lack of it, because there are so many things you can put your child into, like Karate, soccer, etc....... There is also plenty of youth church activities if you attend a church. They can get socializing from there. I think its so much better to give them attention one on one, rather than to have to learn in a classroom full of kids.

I liked it better than public school (11 years of public school and 2 years of homeschooling)...and homeschoolers are NOT socially retarded...after I was homeschooled I became more outgoing...homeschoolers do better academically because they have one-on-one time.

I did better on all levels homeschooling, and the ones that don't like homeschooling I can guarantee are the ones that have absolutely no experience with it.

Usually I tell people to think strongly about all the pros and cons before making any decision, especially when it comes to their child’s education. But in your case I must respond with a very loud, “NO”, simply because it would be hard for you to teach your children when you so obviously lack basic spelling and punctuation skills.

no, i know a homeschooled kid that when ever he goes out tobe in a social environment he just sits in the corner away from everyone. If anyone goes to him and tries to talk to him he will respond but not countinue the conversation. dont home school!
