No you can not deduct purchases for your baby on your Federal Tax return.
If you are other wise qualified to claim the child on your Tax return you would claim and exemption for the child. The child must have a Social Security number to be able to be claimed.

Only the purchases for Medical, Dental and perhaps the sales taxes on all the other stuff, if the sales taxes exceed your income tax deduction.

Babies are expensive but Uncle Sam will only give you so much....

No, can I deduct all my living expenses? Yea right!

But you can claim your baby as a dependent, which will help you some.
