I answered this question and I"m curious...are you treated special at birthday parties or something just because you're a mom? I don't get it? Some people are weird. I know it's not a big deal but I'm curious about it anyway.

I'm not a mom, and I might be jealous that they get "treated" special because they are a mom sometimes, but really!

i guess if you are the kids mom you have to give him a party on his birthday, and you will probably be the one person who wont forget when it is.

I think in the original question she was just trying to give a lot of information so she could get the answers that would apply best to her situation. If she had just said that her friend was turning 25, the people may have suggested taking her to a bar or just sending her flowers. By giving more information she was able to let people know that perhaps a good gift would be free babysitting, or other gift that would relieve her of motherly duties for a bit of time. So, its not that being a mom has anything to do specifically with a birthday, but for her to get the best answer to her question, it was helpful to have more information about the person in question.
